Dear Katie,

Here is the blog post you are requiring of me to write so I can stay a part of your "loop". I've been extremaly busy thus my lack of blogging. When I signed into blogspot it took me several attempts to remember what e-mail I use, a pretty good sign that I need to blog more.

After our festivities tomorrow I'll be sure to post some pictures for your enjoyment. For now I will leave you with Cullen happenings...

Cullen attended his first "religion" class on Wednesday. When he walked out of the class the teacher said to us, "Cullen this must be your brother you told us about, he's very cute."
After we walked away I asked Cullen what he said, "Mom I just told her that my brother use to live in Ethiopia and he has one freckle just like me. Then I showed her my freckle."
Cullen's one freckle is on the side of his hip...

Today after Cullen was up and dressed I asked him to be a bit quieter so his brother didn't wake up before he left for school. Cullen looked at me and said, "You mean I have school today? Again? How much more of this do I have to go to?"
Kid you're in for the long haul:)

Geremu's First Day of School

Geremu had is first day of Nursery School!

Our babysitter Amanda brought him. She said he was a little quiet on the way to school but once he saw the other kids he seemed to relax a little bit.

He was so good at school that Amanda got him a little "after school treat".

He had a lot to tell me and show me when I got home today, he LOVED school.
Here is the shortest and cutest version of open-shut them you might ever witness...

I think he has a little more of the song to learn still :)

School Lunch

During the first week of school I have been making Cullen take hot lunch so he knows how to do it. I figured it was best to learn how to take hot lunch while everyone else was learning. Today I told him what was for lunch, hamburgers, and he told me he wasn't going to eat it. I sort of blew him off at the time because I know how much he wants to take his new lunch box to school. While I was at school today I worried that Cullen wasn't going to eat lunch. So when Cullen came home from school the first thing I asked him was, "How was lunch?"

To which he replied, "It was AWESOME! I got to put my own ketchup on my hamburger and I would have put mustard on but I didn't see it. I started to get full but I just couldn't stop eating... It was so good!"

*It is worth noting that Cullen doesn't eat mustard, but apparently today he was willing to eat it because he would have been able to put it on himself.

Birthday Bash # 2...

Tonight a few of Geremu's friends came over to help him celebrate his birthday.
I asked Geremu what he wanted to have for dinner and he told me "cake". I told him we would have cake but what did he want for a meal and he replied, "we eat cake, then cake and cake. Dats all." We ended up grilling out then served dirt cake and cupcakes to keep the crowd happy. This morning when Cullen woke up he said, "Geremu you are 4 now but you are still chubby-wubby." Then grabbed his cheeks for a birthday chubby-wubby. I think I'm fighting a losing battle trying to stop the chubby-wubbies.

Happy 4th Birthday Geremu!

Today is Geremu's 4th Birthday. He woke up nice and early and then proceeded to ask me if he was "this old" holding up a variety of finger choices. He was looking for an answer every time he added or subtracted a finger. It would have been a fun little game had it not been played at the butt crack of dawn. We will be celebrating Geremu's big day this afternoon with some of his friends.

Yesterday the boys had a busy day, it started at the farmers market, then continued at the State Park by our house. The boys went to the park with Nick and judging from the pictures had an enjoyable time.
It was a beautiful fall day weather wise, a little chilly but sunny.
Yesterday afternoon my parents came and we had an early birthday bash.
My Dad, Nick and Geremu all together.
Pop and Geremu had a little fun with the cupcakes.
One of Geremu's favorite gifts was the Razor scooter my mom talked me into getting for him. When he first got on it and rode it through the house running into a wall pretty hard I was second guessing buying it. But after he was shown the break he didn't seem to have any further problems.

Happy 4th Birthday Gere!

School Update

Cullen had his second day of school today, it was just a half day for him so he only rode the bus to school. When I got home from school he informed me that he, "Made friends with the music teacher. And guess what? She had a magic piano- seriously! I think she just wuvs music!"

Cullen seems to be loving everything about school. Geremu on the other hand is having a rough time adjusting to all the recent changes and his behavior has regressed. Nick and I are both back at school and now Cullen's off doing his own thing. This is the first year that Geremu is home alone without Cullen (we have an awesome sitter at our house). Geremu will be starting nursery school and some other activities but it doesn't start for another week. Apparently that can't come soon enough. In the mean time, I'm trying to keep my patience. Wish me luck:)

Class of 2024

Today was Cullen's first day of Kindergarten! Nick took him to his classroom (today was only a 1 hour class) and he reported that Cullen was skipping into the school he was so excited. He spent a little time doing a project and getting to know his teacher and a few classmates.
Tomorrow Cullen will go to school for a half day and ride the bus to school before his first full day on Friday. I can NOT believe how fast my boys are growing up.
