Just Another Day

So I got a plasma car the other day as a x-mas gift for someone... That someone was playing outside a little later in the day and came running into the house holding it yelling, "Look what I found." It was left in the back of the van. I explained how I got it as a gift for my godchild and well let's just say we've been playing with it ever since...

It's made for people age 3 - 225lbs and since I fit that perfectly I've been having a blast chasing my kids around on it.

Nick came home tonight and decided to have fun with his "no shave November" look. I'm pretty sure he doesn't understand the importance of symmetry.

Geremu's Clock

Today Cullen and Geremu were laying in my bed, I let them sleep with me since Nick is out of town. Cullen had his head on Geremu's stomach and we were just talking. All of a sudden Cullen sits up and says, "Mom did you know Geremu has a clock in his stomach." He puts his head back on Geremu's stomach and tells me to listen so I can hear it too. Geremu mean while has this look of terror in his eyes and starts tell me that he, "No wanna go to the doctor." Cullen couldn't have been more proud of his exciting discovery and Geremu couldn't have been more fearful that he was going to go to the doctor to get another shot.

Happy Thanksgiving!

My parents, sister Colleen, and Luke joined our family for Thanksgiving. Nick wasn't with us for the festivities because he goes hunting with his father and brothers every year at this time. We had a relaxing day. I got up early with my mother and headed to the YMCA to get a quick workout in before spending the rest of the day enjoying the company.

And lovin' each other. I'm so thankful they have each other!

We enjoyed acorns roasting on an open fire... Picture the below candle burning to basically nothing and all the acorns ablaze. The lantern kept it contained, it did however require me to wear oven mitts to get the fire out of the house. Anyone that knows my Dad can imagine just how calm he remained through it all:)

The same woman that does not allow us to even drink water in her living room ate a wild rice salad while sitting on the couch in my living room. She never even got rid of the evidence...

I ordered a french silk pie a few days before Thanksgiving and my babysitter picked it up with the buns on Wednesday morning. Had I known the size of the pie before hand I would have ordered one for everyone in attendance...

Also for those of you that told me you can't screw up stuffing, you were WRONG. Had I not put tin foil over the pan I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have even been able to get a spoon into it. It was so dry even dumping gravy on it couldn't salvage it.

I also learned I don't have enough serving utensils... Unless you count using a ladle for the mash potatoes and an ice cream scooper for the green bean casserole. I'm hoping my family doesn't go all practical on me for Christmas this year. Despite the missing minor details we had an excellent time and the crowd seemed please.

Colleen and Luke stayed up and hit Wal-mart up at midnight. They seemed to have a good time and had some great stories to tell us today.

I wasn't really planning on going shopping this morning but when I woke up at 4 am and there was no power or heat in the house I headed out with my mother around 6ish because we could not fall back asleep. I did find some pj's I was going to get for the boys but after talking to a few people in line decided it really wasn't worth waiting in line for over an hour. We really didn't even end up getting anything but had a good time watch other people and texting my sister in NC who is the type of person I like watching shop on a day like today.

Scared? (A Picture Story)

Cullen and his Fairy Godmother

Cullen calls his Godmother his "Fairy Godmother" and today he drew a picture of himself with his Fairy Godmother. He proceeded to tell us that he LOVES to spend time with her because "she is so nice to me." I'm not so sure he actually remembers her if he believes that, just kidding Katie.


Anyways, he asked me to take his picture with the picture and put it on the computer for her to see. I took several pictures of him and NONE of them turned out appropriate looking... I should note that he does have clothing on it's just he kept covering it up.
So there you have it Fairy Godmother, be sure to comment and tell him how sweet his picture is of the two of you:)

In Geremu news, we have not cut his hair since the beginning of the summer because he does not want it cut. The problem is he also doesn't want me to touch it... This my friends is a problem because if I don't put some sort of product in it daily the curls have a mind of their own. His hair right now is only a few (3-4) inches long but it never looks that long because his curls are so tight. He has started doing his own hair, which is fine with me as long as we don't have somewhere to go. Here is a recent picture of him after he did his own hair, I should note he was mad at me at the time the picture was taken because I didn't want him wearing the headband shopping.

First Girlfriend

A few days ago after school I was going through Cullen's backpack and we were talking about his day. When I asked him what was new at school he said, "I'll tell you what's new Mom, I've got a girlfriend." After asking him a few more questions I learned that a girl in his class, Lauren always asks him if he will be her boyfriend. "Mom, I always say no everyday. But today it was her birthday, so I said sure."

Now I'm all smiles listening to this. I ask him what sort of things do kindergarten girlfriends do. "Play together at recess." Great, I can handle this.

A little while later I'm talking to my sister Megan on speaker phone. She wanted to hear the way Cullen was talking because he got this new appliance put in his mouth and it makes him talk funny (he can't say the letter s). Megan asked Cullen what he liked about his girlfriend to which he replied, "I really like her ponytail."

Now this sounds serious...

The Long Awaited Update

Here's a quick update on our life. Geremu LOVES Eva (a family friend) and just won't leave her alone. It's only a matter of time until she learns to crawl so she can get away from his "help".

The boys got their flu shots today. On the way to the doctors office they asked if they would get a shot. I let them know that I wasn't sure and honestly I didn't know if they would get the shot or the mist. Turns out they only had the shot... When the nurse asked who wanted to get their shot first Cullen told her, "I don't want a shot, I'll just get the nose spray." I convince Cullen to go first to get it over with and to show his brother that it really isn't that bad. BIG MISTAKE, Cullen started to scream before they even touched him with the needle. He didn't cry he just screamed and it continued even after I had his pants back up (they put it in his leg). Geremu took off running out the door before I had Cullen's pants up. I had to go find him out by the front doors only to drag him back to a still screaming Cullen to get his shot. It took me and two other nurses to hold him down, he had the look of horror on his face while putting up a pretty good fight and yelling at me, "Mom I no want a shot." It was perhaps just as painful for me to take them as it was for them to actually get the shot.

On a brighter note Cullen and Gere have recently been seen looking hot in headband/scarf wrapped around their head. This is a new look they like to sport both in the house and when we go out. They really think they look cool.

Phone Calls...

I want to stay out of politics on the blog but I have some stories I need to share about my night. Tonight I volunteered a bit of time for a candidate I would like to win in the elections tomorrow. This was not my first time doing this but in the past I did data entry, which required no phone calls. Tonight I got the privilege to do the actual phone calling. A job I enjoyed, it was very entertaining to say the least.

Now I'm as annoyed as anyone else with the political commercials and phone calls so I totally get it when people hang-up. I was told the list I was given was of people that were for the candidate I was supporting. So I was basically giving a friendly reminder to vote tomorrow from 7am-8pm and then making sure they had a ride to the poll.

I wish I had kept statistics because I had more unanswered phone calls and hung-ups in my over 2 hour stint then I have had my entire life. I even decided to give my parents a call to remind them to vote tomorrow and they freakin' hung-up on me, their own daughter!

My most eventful call of the night was when someone actually called me... They asked me "If this was the number to volunteer for (insert candidates name)." I told them that yes it was. Then they offered to volunteer their time to help move the candidate I was supporting out of their office once they lost. The caller kept reiterating how strong he was- LOL. I found it quite funny and thanked them for offering to help. I let them know I had their name and number and that I would pass their information on to the appropriate people, thanks so much for the call:)Um, good times.
