A Post We Never Imagined Writing...

We've been avoiding this post but feel like we can't and shouldn't avoid it any longer. We had accepted a referral for a young boy at the beginning of April. We didn't formerly announce it on our blog because Cullen and Geremu only knew they would be getting a brother and not much more than that. We didn't feel like it was fair to them to announce it to the world before they got more information. We did share our news with family & friends, we are now sharing via the blog to spare us from having to retell this.

At the end of last week we received more information about "our" little guy. Without going into details we are heartbroken to say we have since turned the referral down. This was not an easy decision to make and we consider it very personal, we are sorry for our lack of details. If you are the praying type, please add "our" little guy into your prayers that he is matched with a forever family quickly.

We are sad and NEVER imagined when we started down this adoption journey that it would have a similar ending as so many of our pregnancies... this is just a different sort of loss. We feel very blessed to have the boys we have, and at this point we are unsure as to where we will go from here.

Oh, AnnMarie, I am so heartbroken for all five of you. I will certainly keep "your" little boy in my thoughts, and wishing you all some peace as you move forward.

I'm so sorry, I am sure this must have been a difficult decision. You all, and this little guy in Ethiopia, will be in our prayers. Let me know if you ever want to talk.

Annie---so sorry to hear the news, I will be praying for you as well as the little one over in Ethiopia. I can only imagine how devastating this can be on top of everything else. Hold tight to those two you have right now and know that God has a plan for your family as well as the little one in Ethiopia, His perect plan!!

Ann Marie,

I understand what you and your family are going through. We also had to decline a referral. I will keep you and this little one in my prayers. Our referral was eventually matched with a family, which gave us much peace about our decision. The little one referred to your family will also find a family. Sorry you had to experience this. This is so hard!!

Ann Marie -
I am lost for words. We too had a lost referral prior to starting down the road to bringing Micah home. We still consider Jean Delson part of our family and pray for him everyday. We will be praying for you and your ENTIRE family. Please call if you need anything

I'm only now getting on my computer but had been wanting to post a comment. Just know I'm thinking about you guys all the time. What an official position to be in. I'll be praying for the little guy as well. Much love.
