A Visit from "Bag Lady"

So today after school a special guest showed up at our door, for now I will affectionately refer to her as "Bag Lady". Here are some pictures of the boys enjoying trying to figure out who the special guest was.

"Bag Lady" even brought the boys treats to eat- clementines!

Then B and her mother (my other good friend) showed up to join the party.

Baby Shower Take 2

Drum roll please.... and the winner for Best Food at a Baby Shower goes to Dawn and Tracie! I thought we served good food last weekend, nothing can beat the chicken salad sandwiches they served on croissants- yummo! This shower was again for my sister Megan and it was given by Kyle's family (Megan's in-laws). I completely forgot to bring a camera but my sister Megan pulled through and e-mailed me some pics.

Let me introduce you all to Tracie (Kyle's sister) and her son Jackson (Jack). Can I get an awe?

Here is something I had to blog about because this is worth remembering. Kyle's Aunt had little hot chocolate packets made as a treat for the guest (see picture below). Very cute, right? Anyways, on the back with the ingredient they had Megan's name and then Jeremy's name. I know what you are all thinking- Who's Jeremy? Perhaps Kyle's family knows something we don't. They chalked it up as a typo, supposedly Jeremy was the name on the template and it was never changed. New packets were printed, but the hot chocolate with Jeremy's name was a hot item to take. Who doesn't want a keepsake from Megan's shower with Jeremy's name on it?
I made some heart shaped cookies (just call me Callie) and brought them to the shower for the crowd. Take note on how I coordinated my outfit to match. Unfortunately, my efforts (matching the cookies) went unnoticed.

Cookie Time

Today we spent part of the afternoon decorating cookies. Cullen was so into it, he really liked frosting the cookies. Geremu on the other hand got more into eating them before they were frosted. Here are a few pictures:

Cullen was having such a good time he wasn't always so sure when to stop. One of the cookies below he frosted, put sprinkles on it then frosted it some more before adding another layer of sprinkles. As he was adding his last layer he said to me, "Dis is gonna be so crunchy."

Ouch-ow Mama!

Well we had another incident at our house and I'll give you one guess who was involved. If you said Geremu can I get a ding-ding-ding? Here's what happened, Cullen came running into our bedroom with undies on his head and nothing on his bottom he was looking out the leg hole. Nick and me both laughed and told him he was silly. Geremu runs out of the room and comes back in with another pair of Cullen's undies on his head and nothing on his bottom. He is by me so I grab his cute little bumper and he take off full speed ahead. Well I didn't realize it but Geremu didn't put an eye to a leg hole so he couldn't see where he was going. Needless to say he ran smack-dab into my dresser. My dresser is about the same height as Geremu's head so he hit the upper ledge with his forehead. Here are the results of the hit.Megan if you are reading this, does this remind you of when you wrapped an ace bandage around your head? If I recall correctly Mom pounded on the ground pretending to chase you and you ran into the door frame giving yourself a concussion. Ah, the memories.

So I called the doctor to make sure we didn't need to bring him in and since it's under 2" (it's only 1 1/2" I measured to be sure) we just need to keep a close eye on him. We iced it for a painfully long 30 minutes to keep the swelling to a minimum. Then he was back up and running- literally.

Nick just said to me, "The helmet doesn't have to be dorky, I mean we could get him a cool one." This is not the first lump Geremu has received on his head. Remember when the social worker was coming and he ran into the closet door (November)? Then over Christmas break he hit his head on my parents banister. His head swells-up and it swells-up fast (by the time I had the undies off his head it was rather large). I'm starting to think an everyday helmet might not be out of the question.

One last story, so after icing Geremu's head I put his pj's on and he played with Cullen for awhile. Then the boys came to talk to us and Nick says, "What's under Geremu's pajamas?" He lifts Geremu's shirt up and pulls the pants down just a bit and Geremu is tangled in a pair of my underwear. That's right- my underwear. How these got tangled on him under his pajamas is beyond me.

Since we are having a "heat wave" in WI with temps in the positive digits we have been able to get back outside to play.

Megan's Baby Shower

So this weekend I went down to the Milwaukee area to have a baby shower for my sister Megan. She is prego with her first child, a little girl and she is due in March. Here are a few random pictures from the shower.

Since my cousin Callie (middle), my sister Katie (right) and myself threw the party my sister Megan gave us a package of her favorite things (just like Oprah). In the package she included these really cute mittens she made that we all love.
