Yahoo, More than a Search Engine

Tonight Geremu was busy playing with his basket that he keeps his puppy stuffed animals in, it looks like this... He leaves the room I'm in and I hear, "YAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOO", a tumbling sound, a crash and crying. I run into the hall and see Geremu at the bottom of the steps on the ground rubbing his head with one hand and holding his back with the other.
When I was younger my sister Katie talked me into get in a laundry basket and she sent me on a ride down our stairs. I had to be talked into that stunt and did not come up with it on my own. Geremu on the other hand didn't need a dare or an audience. He rode down the stairs, sledding style in his puppy basket all on his own doing. I don't really think he hurt himself too badly (just a pretty big bump on the head), he did give himself a pretty bad scare.

Geremu's Future Profession= Stunt Man or Bobsledder

The Stockings Were Hung...

Last night when we were pumping the boys up for St. Nick's visit Cullen enthusiastically said, "You mean the Leprechauns are coming?!?" After talking a little more we figured out that he was confusing St. Nick's Day with St. Patrick's Day. An easy mistake since they both involve small people (Leprechauns and Elves) and are named after Saints.
After watching Cullen in action this morning there is a little part of me that wishes he would NEVER grow up. He is so into holidays, screaming for gifts that both he got as well as Geremu. It's just so precious... he is so innocent and such a believer!
Geremu was a little quiet and unsure.
Cullen's excitement was so contagious, Geremu mostly followed his lead.
Tonight when I was getting dinner ready I heard Cullen say, "Dad this is for you and Gere dis is for you. I don't want to hear you fight. You get what you get." I'm thinking he may have heard that before. Anyways, it turns out Cullen was talking about the headbands.
The other night while we were playing we got a phone call telling us to go on our computer and check Santa out. So we did and we saw some of our cousins sitting on Santa's lap, we couldn't have been more excited to be a part of the action.
Here is the tree that survived the fall off the van. It's actually not crooked, the picture is. It also looks like Rootsy (that's the boy's elf) has a prime seat to watch the boys in action tomorrow.

Oh Christmas Tree

Nick has been busy, very busy... Christmas is coming and I want to enjoy our tree so I took it upon myself today to go pick out a tree with the boys (without Nick). So we go tree shopping and the first thing I have to find out once we arrive at our destination is if these guys that are working will help me get a tree on top of our van. I'm pretty sure I can't just shove it in the back and drag it home, there just didn't appear to be enough room. They will help and after talking to them for a little while they even offer to deliver it. I tell them delivery is not necessary. They help me find what I'm looking for and get it settled on top of the van.

After driving home I realize that I can't pull into the garage because of the tree, so I park outside. I inspect the tree and decide I don't want the tree to have "bed head" tomorrow from laying on the top of the van all night. So I go inside grab a scissors and snip the rope holding the tree on the van. I jump back in the van and throw it in reverse and slam on the breaks causing the tree fly right off the back of the van. I'm kidding, I should have done that. I yell at the boys to get out of the way before pushing the tree off of the top of the van, it's very possible I put a few scratches in the van. I shouldn't have to worry about vacuuming once we have the tree in the house, all the loose needles fell off when the tree hit the ground. We all drag it into the garage and lean it against the wall.

Cullen is now mad that I won't put the tree up in the house tonight and I'm pretty sure I should have taken those guys up on delivery.

As Luck Would Have It...

The Race to Shop

On Black Friday I went out with my sister Katie to watch people shop and get stuff they really didn't need. Katie was prepared with a list and I had my elbows all ready to knock people down for her if need be. No one enjoys Black Friday more then my sister Katie. When she asked at the Thanksgiving table who wants to go out with her the next day, lots of heads ducked and turn the other way, avoiding eye contact. Somehow I won the boobie prize and enjoyed it:)

We don't wait in line to get in stores, but we do get up early (around 6ish) and were to the stores after 7. Katie was in Katie-mode.
She got a door buster she wanted and couldn't have been happier.
Katie talked me into going to Wal-Mart (this was crazy) the parking lot alone gave me anxiety. Clearly Katie LOVED it.
Katie's heart was beating so hard and she was so excited that she was HOT. She would only turn the temp in the car up to 64 degrees, I was freezing.
As if Wal-Mart wasn't crazy enough we headed to Herbergers next. Ugh... look at this parking lot. We parked far away and walked, I had my fill of crazy, honking drivers at Wal-Mart.

What's Thanksgiving... Without a Trip to the ER?

We had a busy eventful day. It started early traveling to my sister's house. The boys were so excited to go see their cousins that they decided to bring a little fun. The fun was in the form of something we purchased at the World Market a few weeks ago, "fish eggs". They aren't really fish eggs but they are little plastic type beads about the size of a small bb. When put in water they expand and become these rubbery bouncy balls. Needless to say they scream "FUN". When the boys were transferring them into a cup a few fell on the ground. Katie asked Geremu to pick them up and when he came up... he had already eaten them. Needless to say we were in town for approximately 42 minutes and we had to make a trip to the ER. In the first 10 minutes we were at the ER we had a near fire alarm pull by none other than Geremu. Thankfully it was a pull alarm and not a push alarm otherwise I'm pretty sure we would have been responsible for paying for more then our co-pay.

Geremu is alright, we hope, and the only picture I got from our trip was as we were leaving the ER.
After leaving the ER we headed to Megan's for Thanksgiving.
Look at how big and cute Meredith has gotten.
Shortly after we started eating, as luck would have it, Cullen slipped and hit his face on the table. This resulted in Cullen crying and Geremu laughing so hard that he too slipped and hit his Check Spellinghead on the table as well. Geremu seems to be no worse for the wear but Cullen has quite a shiner under his left eye (this picture doesn't really do it justice).
After the meal the kids spent some time playing together outside. That is Johnny falling in the picture below, not one of my kids:)Pop made all the kids day by making them marshmallow guns. Here is a picture of them learning marshmallow gun safety.Geremu playing at the park.We also learned the sex of Megan and Kyle's baby through the cake they are holding. It's a...BOY!The boys went bowling late in the day.
Here's a picture of Cullen's form- BEAUTIFUL.We all enjoyed being around family. Good times with LOTS to be thankful for.
